Here are a few highlights from the 2009 Open House:
MP Daryl Kramp and MPP Leona Dombrowsky were presented with hand-painted (recycled) shovels by CAO/Clerk-Treasurer Marilyn Brickles, demonstrating the point that Wollaston Township is 'shovel ready' and all set to dig the ground for a number of infrastructure projects.
MP Daryl Kramp & MPP Leonoa Dombrowsky The Township has received
funding from the Federal and Provincial governments to finish the soon
to be built Coe Hill Recreation Pavilion (on the site of the old outdoor
rink) with a fabric dome so that it can be used 12 months of the year,
as well as completeing the rebuilding of the rest of Highway 620 out to
Glen Alda and rebuilding The Ridge Road. In 2010 the township will be rebuilding and improving the Wollaston Public Beach Park, adding flush toilets, a new change-room, picnic shelter and a new raft. Hastings County Warden Ron Emond pointed out that Wollaston Township is the envy of most of the municipalities in our county, as the Wollaston Township Council continues to move forward with revitalization plans.
